Sadly, they don't work for very long.* New subscribers only. I'm going to try and get yet one more pair from Apple and if those fail, I'm going to do my darndest to get them returned for the purchase price. Or there's some magical gunk in my ears that's causing them to go wonky. It's definitely the Airpods themselves that are failing. Exactly the same as before, seal fails and poor sound independent of position in my ears. Now, they just don't sound good and there's no position in my ears in which I can get them to seal.Īs a next step, I asked Apple to send me a new pair of tips. These worked perfectly, also for about three weeks and then the seal started to fail once again.

So I brought the suspect Airpod Pros back to an Apple Store and they exchanged them for a new pair. Then, the Seal test started to fail and I could hear that there was a loss of sonic quality both in the midrange spectrum and particularly in base.

My first pair worked perfectly for about three weeks. I am so happy that Apple fixed the problem as soon as I took it to them. If you are having trouble getting your AirPods Pros to pass the Ear Tip Fit Test, I would take them back and exchange them. It was clear that the original pair had some type of issue. At the end of the Genius session - the very nice Apple Store employee took a new pair off the shelf and exchanged them for my bad pair. It failed every single time despite adjusting and pressing them into my ears between tries. I placed the medium demo tips onto my personal AirPods and tried the test 10 times. I switched to the large ear tips and repeated the test. I switched to the small tips and tried again. They passed both left and right immediately. I paired the store demo AirPods Pro with my iPhone and placed them into my ear. They had me try the demo pair (which was pre-installed with medium tips on left and right). Out of frustration I took them into the Apple Store where I purchased them. I would adjust the right and then the right would pass and the left would fail.

Long story short, I tried every possible combination of tip sizes and was never able to get both to pass the Ear Tip Fit Test. Sometimes better in one ear than the other. The noise reduction seemed to work sometimes and just stop working and then start working again. I purchased a set of AirPods Pro on the day they became available in store.
